A high-speed train carrying 500 passengers was evacuated in Frankfurt after a bomb threat.

The train was travelling from Zurich, the Swiss capital, to the German city of Kiel when it was halted by police at Frankfurt Sued station.

Officers also cleared some platforms at the station, in the south of Germany’s financial capital, before beginning a search of the train.

A police spokesman said officers did not find anything suspicious on board and had given the all-clear.
